Thread Herring is a warm water herring that is abundantly caught in Baja California Sur and in the Sea of Cortez.
This specie can be used for canning. The flesh cooks white and has a mild taste.
It also is used for commercial and sport fishing bait. It is a resilient fish that stays on the hook and does not lose its scales easily.
